The Book of Sticker is intended to give its readers
an insight into the past and more recent history of
this ancient Cornish community. As the book leans
heavily on visual content it naturally covers the
period since the invention of photography in the
mid 1800s and contains a host of wonderful
photographs together with fascinating aspects of everyday life in and
around the village.
This book presents the Happisburgh’s rich
archaeological and historical heritage, using
archaeological drawings, aerial images, historical
documents, old photographs and personal recollections
to tell the story of this coastal community, famous for its eroding coastline, whose
residents have literally lived their lives on the edge.
