Sheffield Illuminated is a contemporary look at the ever-changing city of Sheffield and a celebration of what the city has become and is today.

As photographer Stuart Dunn says ‘I’ve always loved the city at night, and I’ve always loved photographing it. Wandering around the city constantly inspired by what I see, the architecture, the variations in light and colour, and the people that inhabit it, everything is connected and a sense of romance resides. There appears to be some kind of grand plan or idea, that what looks like a haphazard tapestry of conflicting architecture during the day, somehow makes perfect sense by night.’

Sheffield Illuminated is a stunning collection of more than 140 nightscapes illustrating the beauty and history of some of the most captivating architecture that makes Sheffield such a unique city. This book is not only a fresh new look at Sheffield but is an uplifting snapshot of a period when Sheffield is once again a thriving city full of new industries, culture and art.

Stuart Dunn is a highly experienced photographer. With a Masters degree in cinematography he now spends most of his time engulfed in the world of cinematography, filming documentaries across the globe in inhospitable environments such as the Amazon jungle and the Himalayas as well as shooting music videos and commercials. His client base includes the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, ITV, Channel 4 and many more. However Stuart has never stopped taking pictures, and still considers himself a photographer first and foremost with many more photographic assignments in the pipeline.
