Richard Tucker has been a Manchester City
supporter for well over 60 years, watching
his first game during the 1940s. In his career
he has also been a professional photographer.
These two passions have come
together magnificently in this fascinating and
nostalgic book containing over 200 images of
nearly 50 games played by Manchester City
during their Maine Road days. It will bring
back memories of games, players and
incidents from the ‘50s to the closure of
Maine Road in 2003. It includes special
coverage of the Cup Final in 1969 and the
very last game at the famous ground. It also
includes many images of the ground itself.
Richard Tucker has captured such
legendary players as Bert Trautmann, Neil
Young, Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee and Tony
Brook, managers like Malcolm Allison, and
momentous matches like the famous “Ballet
on Ice” game against Spurs in December
1967.
This priceless collection – much of which
has never been published before – will
enthral any fan of “The Citizens” and the
book will be a treasured memento for years
to come.
